Building Creative Confidence in Tampa Bay Youth
Talent exists in every neighborhood. Opportunity does not.
Strings Incorporated is a Tampa Bay–based arts education initiative currently in its pilot phase. We are building structured small-group music and creative instruction designed to strengthen confidence, discipline, and self-expression in elementary students.
Our mission is to ensure that cost is never the barrier to a child discovering their voice.
Founder Story
Nia Henry
Founder, Strings Incorporated
Graduate Student, University of Tampa
Hi, I’m Nia Henry, founder of Strings Incorporated and a graduate student in the Entrepreneurship program at The University of Tampa.
I grew up deeply involved in musical theatre and performance throughout my childhood and teenage years. Being on stage shaped me in ways I did not fully understand at the time. It taught me discipline, emotional awareness, preparation, and most importantly, confidence. Performing in front of audiences strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, remain composed under pressure, and lead with presence. Those early experiences built a foundation that continues to guide me today.
As a graduate student studying entrepreneurship, I began thinking critically about how creativity and business strategy could intersect to create meaningful, community-based impact. I realized I did not simply want to pursue the arts personally — I wanted to expand access to the transformative environments that shaped me.
That vision became Strings Incorporated.
Strings Incorporated was founded on the belief that talent exists everywhere, but opportunity does not. Our mission is to provide affordable access to the arts that places students on a differentiating path toward long-term confidence and success. We focus on building structured, safe, and intentional creative spaces for children in the Tampa Bay area — particularly those who may not otherwise have consistent access to music and arts education.
Currently in its pilot phase, Strings Incorporated is being built thoughtfully and collaboratively, with community feedback guiding its growth.
This initiative is not simply about music lessons or performance. It is about creating environments where young people feel capable, seen, and empowered to discover their voice.
